Isla Paridas is 8 nautical miles from the nearest point of mainland Panama, in the Gulf of Chiriqui, however the boat trip is far longer. This tropical Island has rolling hills and fresh water creeks that create swampy esteros and white sand beaches. The main house, guest house, bath house and outbuildings were all designed and hand crafted by myself. To complete the whole project over 2 years were needed, with countless sea hours in transit and captaining many daring boatloads of supplies crossing the rough and tumble channel and “Boca”. It was a dream since childhood to design and build a remote island house, bringing that dream to reality is very satisfying!! However, I will need to carefully consider another attempt at such an ambitious logistical challenge!!!
